My first month working at The Village has flown by. My perspective and knowledge of digital advertising has significantly altered. It is even more vast than I anticipated, with so many emerging technologies, constantly presenting new opportunities. But the team, and the passion they have for their job, has truly welcomed me into this fast-paced environment.

During my first week I was introduced to our digital media owners, and have been getting to grips with how each one can offer different benefits to our clients’ campaigns. I gained insight into the world of programmatic data, search ads and influencer marketing strategies.

It's clear to me now how thrilling and fast-paced the media industry is and there is never a dull day in the office! Over the past month I have been getting to grips with all our different media partners, gaining a better understanding of how each one can benefit our clients’ campaigns with their unique insights and software.

I’ve also enjoyed being able to work with Emma in creating snippets of relevant industry news to send out to our clients for our weekly flash stories and agency blog.  As well as learning about The Village, our clients and the exciting campaigns that are launching, I’ve recently learnt about TGI. An audience insight tool which I’m looking forward to gaining a more advanced understanding over the next few months.

It's been great to get to know everyone a little better outside of the office too, with a welcome Thai lunch and team social at Shoreditch Shuffle Club.

So, all in all, my last month has been pretty full on and a huge learning curve. But I feel so lucky to be part of such a motivated team. Working for such a small company, it’s great to see how we are able to get into the nitty gritty of our clients’ brand, with the care and capacity to dive deeper for them. Whether that be researching the competition or analysing emerging trends.
