Radio Story of the Week

RAJAR, the governing body for measuring radio audiences has released it’s latest MIDAS survey, shining a light on audience listening trends from Summer 2022. The survey found that live radio accounts for 71% of time spent listening to audio, followed by on demand music with 15%. MIDAS found podcast listening is also on the rise reaching an all-time high of 5% listening share. Commercial Radio did equally well, for the first time ever, it rose above 50% of the total radio listening share. The big networks Bauer and Global both expanded their share of listeners with Bauer's The Hits Radio Network and Global's Heart Network doing particularly well.

Pinterest is set to introduce its newest platform development in 2023 as they prepare to premier an original series, ‘A look at the Louvre’. Videos will be posted to the platform’s Daily Inspiration page in France, Italy, Japan, Spain, UK & USA. The content will enable viewers to travel in time to see the iconic art and photography within the Louvre. Pinterest’s aim is to expand their consumers perspective, inspire their creativity and generate a more immersive platform for art and photography lovers around the world.

 

Metaverse story of the week

Following the current shift to hybrid working and an increase in virtual meeting spaces, Microsoft and Meta are pulling together their technologies to create innovative experiences within the metaverse platform. With plans to release their software in the near future, people will soon be able to hold virtual Teams meetings using the headsets, but they will also be able to use Word, Excel, and other Microsoft programs in VR. The new technology will be available on Meta Quest headsets, as well as its Microsoft 365 apps.
