I can’t believe 5 weeks have passed since joining the Village in September...I can’t believe 5 weeks have passed since joining the Village in September. Having moved from the ‘number heavy’ accountability side of media there has been an awful lot to take in from a planning/buying perspective.. and still of course a great deal more! From day one I have been introduced to numerous lovely media owners and clients, worked on a range of competitives from food to finance, gathered insights into various target audiences, and even come up with a proposal to target a very unique audience together with Joe. Other tasks have involved checking out our client Funkin’s colorful bar (and of course their cocktails) at London Cocktail week in Spitalfields, and filming the people of Covent Garden talking about their media habits for a short film proving that traditional media is still alive and kicking. I am really enjoying the hands on and varied experience I am getting from a smaller agency and learning so much from the very talented and charismatic team here! I have also completed a range of training on the various powerful tools we have access to, as well as attended at very informative day at Newsworks which highlighted the power of news brands. An OOH and TGI training day is next in the schedule. Besides the work, there is certainly a great social side the agency too. I was lucky enough to join just in time for our sister agency, the 7 stars’ 10th birthday party, followed by going out for a delicious Thai lunch with the team the next day (even if feeling a little fragile). We have a number of Xmas dos coming up to look forward to, especially our trip to Berlin in December which is super exciting! Rose
